The author Takeshi Obata came up with the character of Gook, a sluggish, is one of the thirteen shinigami. He possesses what appears to be the skull of a ram for his head, and he has fair patches all over his body. His status as a Shinigami is seven, and he may frequently be found in the Shinigami Realm engaging in gambling activities with other Shinigami.
The mask that he wears makes him stand out. Like Deridove’s shinigami, he likes to gamble. Even though he bets a lot of money, he never seems to come out ahead.
In the very first episode of Death Note, the author, Obata, had the intention of utilizing Gook, and he was successful in doing so. On the one hand, he wanted Gook to appear big, like a monster, but on the other hand, he wanted him to appear simple, so he gave him an unusual skull. In the same way that there was an error with the name of the investigator Raye, there was one with Gook.
Takeharu Onishi provides his voice for the Japanese version, Lee TOCKAR for the American Version & Hans BAYER for the German version for the voice of the anime show in regional dubbing.

Takeshi Obata has stated that he wanted Gook to emerge in the first chapter as a monster because he wanted to keep the story as straightforward as possible. Because he believed that employing a typical skull for the design would be uninteresting, Obata came up with the idea to use the skull of a cattle instead making him very simple.
