It will take you 15 Hours and 25 Minutes to complete the entire TV Anime Series of Death Note, as there are 37 Episodes, with each episode being around 17 Minutes to 25 Minutes.
It’s obvious that Ohba and Obata had no choice but to keep writing the manga even after L died (which coincides with episode 25 of the anime).
The first red flag is the striking disparity in quality between the L Arc and the Near/Mellow Arc. This also occurs frequently in the manga, notably in Shounen Jump.
Every time a series goes on much longer than it was first meant to, the quality of the storytelling declines dramatically. When the author is pushed by his editor to continue the series, he may not be ready for it or may no longer care about the characters.
Furthermore, one may argue that Ohba didn’t initially intend for Light to kill L. Truth be told, the method by which he convinced Rem to murder L smacked of Deus Ex Machina more than anything else and was fairly sloppy overall. As a matter of fact, it’s most likely that Ohba wanted L to catch and defeat Light at this moment, thereby ending the story.
However, the manga’s editors insisted that they keep going with the series, so they switched to Light killing L through Rem and began a new plot arc (which they had to spend 2 months thinking up).
Time It Takes To Watch Every Long Episode Of DeathNote
Death Note is the title of a series of manga books by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, published in Japan.
From December 2003 through May 2006, 108 chapters were serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump, a shoujo manga magazine published by Shueisha, and were later collected into 12 tankobon volumes.
The whole manga was adapted in the Death Note anime, which aired for only 37 episodes. Thus, its conclusion was inevitable.
